I read this headline on npr.com today and it made me nauseous. When will people understand that making abortion illegal does not make abortion go away — preventing unwanted pregnancy makes abortion go away. And if family planning funding is reduced, abortions increase. Doh.

One comment: “George Carlin said it all.” drew me in to watch this video… it is hysterically funny.

It is disgraceful that the media is whipping up such a frenzy about Pit Bulls. Would you know one if you saw one? More importantly if you saw one that wasn’t would you know that?

Dog attacks on humans are all about the owners…

The National Canine Research Council has identified the most common factors found in fatal dog attacks occurring in 2006:

  • 97 percent of the dogs involved were not spayed or neutered.
  • 84 percent of the attacks involved owners who had abused or neglected their dogs, failed to contain their dogs, or failed to properly chain their dogs.
  • 78 percent of the dogs were not kept as pets but as guard, breeding, or yard dogs.

It makes women seeking abortion, and those providing abortion, criminals. If the amount of money spent on making men able to reproduce (viagra) had been spent instead on preventing unwanted pregnancy, abortion would have been drastically reduced.

The sad facts are that even abortion rights advocates don’t really want women to be forced into a situation where abortion is the option they have to choose. It is a morally difficult, and an emotional tsumai proportioned decision. But — the bottom line is that women need to be in control of their reproductive rights to create empowered families capable of decisions that value our society as a whole.

In societies where families are valued as a whole and women’s reproductive freedom’s are acknowledged as part of familyvalues the health of the entire family is better.

Leon Panetta (!)

At the top of my favorite politician list! — and there aren’t many that are even ON the list. I had no idea he had spook background. But there is no doubt in my mind that he is a man of high intelligence, high integrity, and honesty. Something that has been missing in the cabinet for 8 years.

I thought having George W. as president would be bad (even disastrous as it turns out) — but omg, Sarah Palin? My opinion of John McCain went down the toilet with that choice.

The best thing of all is that it will be over in less than a week. The bad news, it won’t be Hillary as president. We had a possible guaranteed great president. Now, well, we’ll wait and see.
